Hi its good to be back I used to be a member of the old asawa forum nice to see it return.
I have a question for you see if you guys can help me here My wife still has her old passport that has her expire U.S. visa, also it has her single name in full. Has the original entrance Stamp from U.S. immigration. we are planning a trip to the Philippines this october, her passport is still good till next August of 2009 Oh by the way she already has her upgraded 10 year green card. Do you think there will be a problem when we go if we don't change her single name to her married name? I bought plane tickets with her married name. Do I have get a new passport for her? Has anyone gone to the philippines and had any problems I could really use some help thank you |

Has anyone gone to the philippines and had any problems I could really use some help thank you[/quo Yes! you need to get her a new passport or renew if her old passport is already expired. when i went to the philippines month of march this year i brought my passport (single name) and i brought my green card (married name) and i bought my plane ticket used my married name, when i was in Miami Airport at immigration they ask my passport and my green card. and original copy of our mariage certificate for supporting document and I observe maybe it depends the immigration officer what they need and ask to you because when I arrive at L.A Phil immigration they ask my ticket and my green card they don't ask my passport, when I arrive in Hongkong Phil immigration I showed them my ticket and green card they don't ask my passport too. i don't have any problem at immigration except when i arrive at Manila airport some employee there if they know you come from U.S or other country they will ask you money and if you ride on the taxi be sure you know where you go because the taxi driver will tour you arround in defferent places of manila to run the auto meter high and fast and ask you a big bills to pay him, so be aware of that. Note:"keep your name tag hide". |
