Applying for a US Tourist Visa
I was planning on having my girl friend visit me in California while her annulment is being processed however, we have been informed that obtaining a US tourist visa is extremely difficult. I was even planning on being with my girlfriend when she is interviewed at the US Embassy in Manila and vouch for her.
Any feedback or tips regarding this issue would be appreciated. Thanks. Brian |

you're right. its really difficult to get a US Tourist Visa. She must have a bank account, house and lot, stable job or business...something like that... my fiance was with me during my interview last May 20. Obviously, im approved coz im here in the Us now...
BTW, im not really good at giving advise with regards to this kind of topic. you were unlucky that i've spotted your post...lol... just kidding. Anyways, there are lots of Asawa regulars who are experts with this kind of inquiry ike RayBacon, a_flyer, Ducecoop, ozzy_wife and lots more. Im sure they will read your post. Good luck and God bless. Good Brian! |

If both of you really want to be together, I suggest that both of you make sure that there are enough reasons for your girlfriend to come back. That's what the consul needs to know that she will be back. Don't make the consul suspect that her significant other is there in the US. These are the things she needs to prepare, if applicable:
- The last three months worth of monthly bank statements and current and former bank account passbooks; - Employment certification including salary, tenure, position; - Credit Card Statements for prior three months; - Birth Certificates and Marriage Certificate (if married) issued on NSO security paper; - USCIS Form certifying an extension of stay in the United States (required if you stayed longer than your initial period of entry. - Vehicle Registrations; - Land Titles (originals only, no certified copies please); - All previously issued passports or affidavit of loss (required); - DSWD Certificate for Minor to Travel Abroad or Parental Travel Permit (See Frequently Asked Questions for more information); - Professional License (PRC card, Integrated Bar Card, etc.). All documents must be originals. The embassy will not accept photocopies. For supporting documents, these will be helpful: If the purpose of your travel is: Business - A letter from the U.S. organization indicating the purpose of the trip, the intended length of your stay, and the firm’s intent to defray costs, if applicable. Applicants traveling on business for a Philippines-based employer should present a letter from the employer outlining the travel and business plans, including dates of travel. Pleasure - You should be able to explain and document if possible the purpose and length of the trip, the ties that would bring your back after a short visit (family, employment, et. al.) and ability to cover the costs of the trip. The following might also be helpful and may be requested by the interviewing officer: - Pictures of family, home or business - Wedding photos - Proof of travel medical insurance for applicants who might be at risk of requiring medical care while in the United States Take note that these documents will not be helpful: - Affidavits of support from relatives/sponsors in the United States (exception: Student visa applications). The Affidavit of Support is a requirement only for Immigrant Visas. The interviewing officer is less concerned about how you will be supported during your stay in the United States than in whether you have reason to return home. - Affidavits - In general, affidavits of any sort will be of little value to an applicant. We encourage you to save yourself the time and money and not to prepare them. - Letters of invitation (except for business travel). During the interview, make sure that your fiance is confident enough to answer the questions of the consul. GOOD LUCK! |

My godfather applied for a tourist visa to attend her sister's wedding last year in San Diego but he was denied, he have all the proofs bank account in peso/dollars, supporting assets etc. but still the decision of the CO is irrevocable, they think that my godfather will never go back in PI
Everybody is really frustrated, he even got his interview before but he was denied as well same thing they think he will never go back, he had numerous attempts to apply for a tourist visa and he got tired of it |
