i didn't get any personal interview
Way back 2004 that was August when i got my visa. The Canadian Embassy just phoned me and was only asking my date of birth. That was a personal question just for them to know that it was really me before they can issue the visa. Then after that my visa came the next day. That was really great coz i didn't need to go to Manila for the interview. I guess they were satisfied of all the papers we gave.

Interview for spouse in Canadian embassy are more on your personal information but interview for spouse are very seldom, I got my immigrant visa without interview. Tell your wife to come early or one hour ahead of the schedule. |

My wife went for her interview. She answered all the questions without any problem since she knows me and our relationship well (although due to nervousness, she didn't elaborate a lot). She got along well with the visa officer and even shared a few laughs. Regardless, they didn't approve or deny her.
Even though the Embassy never asked for it, my wife took all our updated supporting documentation (emails, ecards, phone records, txt msgs, etc). The visa officer took her additional supporting documentation and said: "I need time to review all this (pointing to the supporting documents) and our interview today. If I'm satisfied, we will do a criminal check and you will be approved and all the documents will be returned to you and also your passport along with the visa. If I'm not satisfied you will be denied" She then browsed through our application, looked at the medical certificate and said "You're visa will expire on October 4th, 2006. If it expires you will have to re-apply and start all over again" When my wife asked how long that would take the officer said "about a month". So we have no idea if my wife will be approved. |
