US Department of STATE visa office number to call if on AR

To my fellow members, this might help. I was able to find this number and this is actually a department within the US Department of State that handles visa issue inquiry for Consulates and Embassies...I contacted them and I was told that they will make an inquiry for me.

Department of State Visa office: 202-647-7948

Good luck to all!

Just in case you want to know...

As of May 24, 2005...it has been 8 weeks since my wife's interview and still no visa.

Good work!

Kenneth,

Good job!!

I called that number but the gentlemen explained that it was the staffs office number. The actual number is 202-663-1231 and they are open from 8:15 - 5:00 EST.

the gentleman I spoke was extremely helpful and nice. Since I just checked asawa for posts and it's after 5 pm here on the east coast I'll call first thing tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow my wife will have been on AR for exactly two weeks.

Buck

+1 202-663-1231

However the number I get through on 1-202-663-1225 then option 1, then 0, then 0 .

+1 is the country code for the USA just like +63 is for the RP. From Smart Buddy, you must include the "+" before dialing the rest of the number.

I have also learned that the Dept. Of State can only look at the computer records, NOT make an annotation like MNL can to note that the petitioner called to check status, something I feel is necessary to demonstrate a history of continued interest in the process.

Hope this helps.

Hi everybody!

Yesterday, June 23. I tried calling the number 025286300 local 5184. Talking about rudeness huh , when she heard me speaking tagalog, the lady just transfered me to a recorded voice info for the US Embassy call center (geeeesshh!!!) But, when My hubby from CA, called this number, 011-632-5286300+80, he got thru and asked for Lorraine. My hubby got infos from her about our case. She told him all the things my hubby wanted to know. I've been on AR for 7 weeks and 2 days already!!!!! The lady told my hubby, next week, we should be hearing something from them. BUT.... too bad , We're still not sure if it's good news or bad news. Please, everybody... We need your prayers. Thank you all in advance.
