Hello,
I really dont know if there is some truth to that since it is not on d list of reasons why one gets an AR but having known that, it could probably be a reason (since i dont know why i am on AR) why i haven't received my visa yet...i have travelled to Korea, Canada and have stayed in the U.S. for a year and a half...

Hi Pot,

Are you on K1 route? The least I can do is to wish you all the luck in the world. Goodluck to your interview on the 22nd.

Do not entertain the negative thought of being denied, after all your application was not denied. So make out the most of it this time.

Goodluck!

Hi pot2, i probably seen you at your first interview, we also have interview on Jan 6th. I was there with my wife. We had to bring papers back the next week, and we just got our visa delivered on Feb 10 finally.
Since they have you come back for second interview, i would say, because you said you traveled to other countries, they do checks with other countries you have been, and now will probably just ask you more details about your stays in those countries. hopefully your wait was just so they could check into info from those countries to verify your info, and you will be given paper to take to pay for delivery of your visa after your interview on 22nd. Best of luck to you!!! stay positive!

feb-22 2nd interview approved

dear deuce02 and maricel,
thank u for your kind words. i already had my 2nd interview and i finally got approved. contrary to what i thought (having travelled outside the Philippines) of why d consul had to put me on AR, he actually asked me about my younger sister who is already in the U.S. with a working visa...the consul said he has to ask because we have the same middle names and of ofurse all the data in our birth certificates are almost the same...he even said that we have resemblances in our picture (having the same parents of course ) After having said and explained that we are siblings, he placed the green and white card in my documents :P and i actually picked up my visa on that same day...Thank God and all d angels and saints!!!

P.S. deuce02 was ur wife wearing black overall dress during your interview last jan 6? is she d beautiful pregnant woman? did u also have to come back d following monday to submitt documents? ( i also went back and if its u and ur wife i think we have seen each other)

Inquiry on Period to File Fiance Visa

I just wanted to know, if anyone has any idea. Can a visa application be disapproved by being filed beyond the two-year period of meeting.

My bf and I last met January 4, 2004. And although he filed the application December 23, 2005. The Visa Center said they received the visa application only on January 23, 2006. I am just afraid we may be disapproved on a technicality.

Yes, visa applications are routinely denied based on not fulfilling the requirement to have met in person within the two years immediately preceeding the filing of the visa application.

That requirement is pretty inflexible and applications are usually denied at the USCIS prior to the issuance of NOA2.

Having said all of that...based on your statement above, your fiance met the requirements of the rule and filed the application within the two-year window. If the postmark on the envelope is stamped with a date of January 3, 2006 or earlier, you will have nothing to worry about regarding that particular requirement.
