My parents was missing 2 documents. After 2 weeks (it took that long for them to received the documents from here US) they return and submitted the missing docs. They were told it will take 10 bussiness before they get the visa. Now its been 11 days and no Visa. They live in the province.
Questions.... 1)Is it 10 days from the day they submit the missing docs? 2)Is it 10 days after the missing documents are proccess? (But why did they say 10 days on the spot?) Been checking Delbros but no luck and no one is answering the Embassy line. I'm confused. |

The problem as I see it and as I think JeffK is pointing out, the genial folks at the embassy just don't tell you why you are in AR sometimes. We were asked to provide a baptismal certificate, indeed a photocopy of the parish record book, voter i.d.'s, work i.d.'s etc. So one might say they wanted us to really prove my wife was who she says she was. Of course, we had already given them her government i.d., she was an attorney in the Filipino government, her bar certificate, etc. Just what they were fishing for I don't know.

Bob,
There could be another reason that might pop up from time to time which could flag a couple for AR and that is the timely filing of documents. What I mean by that is there was a large time gap between some of the documents I filed. I wanted to wait until I completed my 2004 tax returns which prolonged out filing of certain documents. This was never mentioned during the interview, but I was always concerned that it may raise a red flag. I figure if I was an interviewer and I noticed that a petitioner waited much longer then was necessary to submit a form I would wonder why. Another reason that may have derailed Salle and I was bad luck. After speaking with Ray and reading as much as I could it would seem that a fair amount of ARs might be conducted randomly. I know your poll was conducted to give couples ideas of how to avoid AR but it should not be discounted that for some of us there was really nothing we could have done. The warning in this is that AR is somewhat demoralizing and it is human nature to place blame on ourselves or our mate. We must stand strong and realize that for some there was nothing that anyone did or neglected to do that caused AR. It just happens sometimes. Edwin |

Re: how long will the us consul make final decision
Quote:
You said that a probable reason for you being on AR would be because you don't have your fiance's W2 during the interview. May i ask if your fiance's income is way above the 125% poverty line or just meet that mark (please don't be offended). I only ask because my fiance's income is way above the poverty guideline and because the embassy don't ask for the W2 on I-134, he said i don't need to bring it with me on the interview. I still have to persuade him not to take any chances, but it would help me if i have a strong case. Your reply would be very much appreciated. Thanks. |

I'm not sure but if we are in AR or not, the lady told us we are approved for the visa, but we just needed to bring back nso birth certificate and nbi to them, which we brought back the following week to them. But still dont have visa released to delbros yet. so i guess maybe we are in AR??

working out of country reason for AR?
Hi
I have been told that if a Filipina worked out of her country it is almost certain there will be an AR. My son's fiancee has interview coming up on 3/23/06, and he met her in Japan in 2004- he was in the military, and she was on a work visa there. Anyone have any experience with this-do you think this is true? Thanks, Denise |

Not sure yet if Im AR coz i just had my interview last Feb. 10th, but I received that white piece of papers that says "wait till you hear from us" so im thinking Im on AR. The reason that I can think of was about my husband's employment. I've seen the Filipina who did the preliminary interview on me that he encircled my husband's income (2002-2004) from the Income tax Returns and W2's that we gave them, and she and the american consul who interviewed me asked if my husband has 2 employers or got 2 jobs. I dont know what makes them think that my husband has 2 employers or got 2 jobs. I dont really know why they put me on AR coz I provided whatever they asked from me at the same time they asked those documents from me.

Hello everyone, it is my first time to join this forum and i really find it very amusing to get a lot of useful informations. i have a question about AR since i figure this is my situation right now, after being given a pink paper after d interview, then d embassy sent me a letter to come back for a second re-interview and not asking me to bring anymore documents...has anyone been in the same situation? My second interview would be on the 22nd of febuary and my first intrview was last jan.6. I would appreciate your response.ty
