Probably, I said that the wrong way. I should have said, my friend, who had the petition denied when he tried to get his fiancée here, is trying again now that they are married.

Final Note!

Victory, at last! After a few logistical problems [including some illness], my friend made the long, long flight to the far east and the day before yesterday, returned to Central Texas with his bride! Tom and Linda are now living under the same roof and Tom is learning about all the mistakes he made, like purchasing the wrong type of rice cooker, definitely the wrong brand of rice and other important things...hahahahaha.

Congratulations to both of them! And I hope this serves as a good example that persistence pays off.

Post Final Note

My friend's wife, Lisa, has her green card, is learning to drive, and is adjusting to Central Texas very nicely. She is a wonderful addition to our community here. My friend, Tom, has not stopped smiling in weeks. Having her here with him is his best Christmas present, ever.

A quick revisit: Lisa has adjusted nicely. She has found places to shop for clothes that fit her and places that have the kinds of foods that she likes. Tom is eating better than he ever has. Lisa has contacted and visited some relatives that live here in Texas. She has done wonders in decorating the house that Tom bought. She is active in the local church, is taking a course at the local college and is growing vegetables in the back yard. All of the immigration stuff is on track and under control. This is definitely a success story.
