hi, first of all allow me to use my husbands account i just registered but havent receive any activation email yet.

i dont really believe in chain letters or chain text but it happened to me one time when i was still in PI...on august 14, 2005 a friend of mine forwarded a chain text to me that says "...pass this to 8 people and something good will happen to you around 11pm..." i dont have a load that night but i just did bought one because of that (for a try)...i went to the internet cafe around 10pm and a couple minutes after an american (chatmate) friend emailed me saying that he want to meet me in person...he was already in the PI that time coz he met a lady whom he thought to be his wife but everything changed when they met in person...so a couple days after they broke up he emailed me...its so strange that he was online and i was online too at the same time...so we met the next day!!! and we are now 7 months married!!!

by that time i believed in chain text or letters coz it did happened to me...but i realized that everything happen for a reason...if its for you then its for you...if you die then you die...just like that!!! i just dont like reading chain letters with cursing!!!

This is what I find endearing about Filipinas and the culture in general. While admitting up front that you do not believe in superstitions, you spread them anyways.

The first time I was in Siquijor, which is known for witchcraft and other superstitions, I had the opportunity to sit down with 6 Filipina waitresses that worked at the resort and ask them about different superstitions that are posted all over the web, including this site. When I would ask the validity of a belief, they would be slow in answering, but when one would answer the rest would expand on it. The interesting thing as they believed in some superstitions such as the Wak Wak, yet did not believe in others that did not seem as outlandish to me. I left the conversation without knowing any more than before, except that I am fond of the culture and accept things for as they are.

Some of the superstitions we covered were:

Why you should not step over a pregnant woman laying on the floor.

Why you should not eat a pregnant woman's food.

Why women should not bathe after noon or during their menstrual cycle.

Why you should not take photos in threes.

How the Wak Wak will come to your house and either steal your baby from the womb or from an unsecured bedroom through the window.

i dont believed in supertision even before. when i was a child my grandma{died} loves to talk those fairy tale but im not interested to listening to it and its make me fall asleep.

LOL, i dont believed of wak wak it is only exist in the horror movie or telenovela. people who lived in the moutain area or far way from the city who are the most believed in superstition.they believed everything of what they heard and see in tv,radio/gossip, without knowing the fact.

heck, im even take a shower when i have my period it is the most important to keep you clean and not smelly.
there are a lot of superstition i always heard but i did not take it seriously and i just think those are not exist in real life.some people are just overly watch horror movie,listening old folk fairy tales, without realizing what is the fact and what is just superstition and just leave it to that but they always keep in thier mind that fairy tales are exist in real life until they grew up,get married,getting old,and it might be also possible that when they have children they can inherent it from them of what the parents believed

i probably didnt explain it well but what i was trying to say is its just strange that what i dont believe happened to me and i was amazed because of that so by that time i kinda did believe it. but i realized in the end that things happen for a reason. so even if there are chain text or something theyre still not true because i believe what i had experienced just happen accidentally.
